WEBINAR: Understanding the California Memorandum of Understanding

April 10, 2013 Webinar

In March, the California Department of Health Services and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services reached an agreement to implement a dual eligible demonstration that will transform the way Medicare and Medi-Cal services are delivered to Californians that qualify for both programs.  Under the agreement, or Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the demonstration, known as Cal MediConnect, will impact as many as 456,000 low-income seniors and persons with disabilities and will be implemented as soon as October 1, 2013.

The MOU is complex.  This free webinar provides advocates for low-income older adults and persons with disabilities a basic description and analysis of the MOU.  A written summary of the MOU will be released during the webinar.

NSCLC will also soon be launching, in partnership with the Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund, a series of webinars and trainings designed to prepare advocates, disability serving organizations and senior service providers for the implementation of Cal MediConnect and the other elements of the Coordinated Care Initiative.
