Fifty years ago this month President Eisenhower signed into law legislation establishing the Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) program.

Fifty years ago this month President Eisenhower signed into law legislation establishing the Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) program. At the beginning the program was restricted to workers age 50 or over and disabled adult children (DAC) who could establish onset of disability prior to age 18.
