Litigating after Iqbal
Learn about NSCLC's upcoming webinar
Bell Atlantic Corp. v. Twombly, 550 U.S. 544 (2007), and Ashcroft v. Iqbal, 129 S.Ct. 1937 (2009), heightened pleading standards, requiring more than simple notice pleading. This webinar will provide guidance to attorneys regarding how to draft a complaint to comply with the heightened pleading requirements and how to defeat a motion to dismiss. Alex Reinert, Assistant Professor of Law at Benjamin Cordozo Law School, who argued Iqbal, will address prisoner and employment cases. Jane Perkins, Legal Director of the National Health Law Program, will discuss Medicaid cases. Rochelle Bobroff, Directing Attorney of the Federal Rights Project at the National Senior Citizens Law Center, will moderate, and time permitting, discuss other recent cases applying Iqbal.
